AIR MAX 1: A TECHNOLOGY, AN EMBLEMATIC MODEL

There Air Max is one of the silhouettes that have marked the history of the sneaker forever. Designed in 1987 by Tinker Hatfield , famous creator of the Air Jordan 3 , from the Air Jordan 4 as well as many other classics, the pair is an early adopter of the technology Nike AIR and stands out above all for its unique design that lets you see the air bubble inside its soles through a small window at the heel.

In order to conceive the avant-garde design of the Air Max 1 , Tinker Hatfield says he was inspired by the architecture of the Center Pompidou in Paris where he was then staying. The tubes of the famous Beaubourg center will illuminate the brand's best-known designer in swoosh . He will then have the idea of integrating air tubes like those making up the facade of the Pompidou Center. Nike first unveils the model in a version " White/Varsity Red “, sporting a palette of colors ranging from white, to gray and red. The most emblematic Colorway, it has been reissued several times as part of the Air Max Day. Many other colors will later be revealed by the Oregon brand. Following the success met by this revolutionary pair and ahead of its time, Nike develops new editions, each more innovative than the next.
